Fashion Friday: Outfit Guide For Your Favorite Fall Activities

By Karina Cuevas

It’s October and, yes, Florida is still giving us dreadful 80-degree weather. But the colorful leaves on campus and the smell of pumpkin spice lattes swirling from Starbucks give us enough reasons to welcome the cozy autumn season. Aside from craving everything pumpkin-flavored and beginning my countdown until Thanksgiving break (t-minus 6 weeks!), I’m also excited for the many events I can partake in during this beautiful season. So, naturally I prepared a mini style guide for my favorite fall events. Check them out below:

Cooking + Baking

While I’m guilty of baking goodies in the kitchen year-round, autumn gives me more reason to bake delicious treats with fall favorites such cinnamon, apples and pumpkins. Opt for a practical and stylish ensemble, like this comfy sweater paired with slouchy boyfriend jeans and cute flats. And don’t forget an apron, since you won’t want to get your amazing outfit dirty!

Pumpkin Carving

Carving the best pumpkin is no easy feat, but it sure is a lot of fun! Get carving in a trendy denim-on-denim outfit and add some fun with a pair of leopard flats. Pull your hair in a tight top knot and carve away!

Halloween Horror Nights

This scary event at Universal Studios in Orlando is a great and fun way to get into the Halloween spirit with a group of friends. Get grungy and sport a pair of leather shorts with a simple grey tank and since you’ll be doing a lot of walking (or running away), throw on a pair of comfy boots. Top it off with a boyish beanie that will also beat the crisp autumn chill.

Cornfield Mazes

You can keep denying it if you want to, but deep down, you know you love a night running through a cornfield maze. This nostalgic and adventurous fall festivity calls for the perfect oversized flannel paired with a chic black crop top and skinny jeans to give it a modern twist. Lace up your Chucks for the perfect final touch.
