When the temperatures are dropping and you find yourself still curled in your covers in the middle of the day, it’s the best excuse to read some of the most heart-warming and inspirational books on your shelf. Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea, lay back and relax with a book in hand.
The best books to get comfortable with are those that can make you think you’re dreaming while you’re still wide-awake. Books can take you on a journey without you ever having to leave your house.
One of the most read books of all time, and easiest to curl up with and read cover to cover is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. This book has been an inspiration to millions of people who have read it. It’s a book of enlightenment that can take your mind on a long journey while you’re body is perfectly cocooned in your sheets.
The book follows a boy named Santiago, who travels from his homeland of Spain to Egypt in search for a treasure in the pyramids. All of the people whom he meets during his travels shape the journey that he’s on. The hunt for the treasure in the pyramids soon turns into the discovery of a treasure within Santiago himself. This book is a tale that believes in dreams and following your heart.
Author Mitch Albom has by far the best books to curl up with. Whether you’re in the mood for lighthearted, sad, exciting, or curiosity provoking, his books have it all. The top two books that you should bring to bed with you tonight are “Tuesdays with Morrie” and “For One More Day.”
“Tuesdays with Morrie” is a heartwarming and emotional rollercoaster of a book. The memoir is about an older dying man and his past student, who happens to be Albom himself. The almost 200 page book flies by as you read each page top to bottom.
The last book you should get comfortable with is “For One More Day.” Make sure you have the tissues out. The story covers a man and his mother whose bond takes them past this realm of the earth. The man in the story, Charley, wants to take his life and in trying to do so discovers why he wants to live. He discovers his bond with his mother and much more about his past.
No matter where you choose to curl up with these books, they will transport you and take over your emotions. Get comfortable and let your mind free.
